Created over 8 years ago, updated about 1 month ago

Definition: The rank of a matrix $A$, denoted $\text{rank}(A)$, is the dimension of the column space (equivalently, the row space). It equals the maximum number of linearly independent rows or columns, and also equals the number of pivots in the row echelon form.
