Eigenspaces

Definition: The eigenspace $E_\lambda$ for eigenvalue $\lambda$ is the set of all eigenvectors corresponding to $\lambda$, together with the zero vector: $E_\lambda = \text{null}(A - \lambda I)$. It is a subspace of $\mathbb{R}^n$ (or $\mathbb{C}^n$).
