Data Repositories

Data repositories - presumably they are organized in a way to make it easy to see what is somewhere and where it goes. Is that a reality?

Scenario: I have a set of data that I believe is useful and I want a place to share it.

  • Need a tree of knowledge to know where it all goes and be able to find it.
  • W3C Prov group
  • COAR Next-generation repositories. also related to David’s question about repositories: COAR repository alignment initiative
  • Have data more understood by machines - two sided coin. Need to find the data I need, but don’t want the data overload that might be inherent in that added knowledge.
    • Machines can handle the data overload - people just can’t as well
